Baby Name Poll Update

This week we removed the name Donavan.

Cute name.  He even played for the Vikings this year, but no.

We've already removed Kainan, Brogan and Paxton.

Manly Bonding Time

The boys have a fascination with watching Pheaney shave.  He usually shaves in the shower after they're in bed, so it's a rare occasion that they get to watch.  (Which is understandable.  It's scary to have a razor next to your throat with three wiggly boys standing next to you.)  But when it does happen, they gather from all ends of the house.  Espen especially seems to enjoy watching.  He narrates every detail.  Then he'll bring it up in conversation for the next several days.  "Daddy paint." (Insert painting face motion.)  Daddy shave chin.  (Runs hands over chin.) Daddy shave neck. (Points to his neck.)

I'm glad they have such a great Daddy to teach them how to be real men (and there's a lot more to that than just being able to shave!).

Creative Car Fun

Our most recent Menard's run included this pipe for our downstairs bathroom.  The boys had a ton of fun racing their cars through it.  Then Espen figured out that he could yell "Zoom, zoom, zoom!" into it and make his voice echo, which brought a lot of giggles.  So much fun for so little money!  Just don't tell them that it has to get returned.  (It's a long story...a new twist in our ongoing bathroom remodel project.)

Anointing with Soap

The other day as the boys were getting ready for bedtime we noticed something slightly sticky in Adrian's hair.  At first he denied any knowledge of it, but then eventually admitted that it was hand soap he had put on his hair. We reminded him that hand soap is only for washing hands and not for putting on our heads.

The next morning Brittany was talking to Adrian during bath time.  She directed him to scrub his hair extra good due to the soapiness.

He told her: "I just needed the soap to be a king."

"A king?"

"Well, I didn't have any oil so I just used soap to be the oil to put on my hair to make me a king."


Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. (1 Samuel 16:13 ESV)

Apparently Adrian has aspirations of king-li-ness.  (And don't remind us that David was one of at least eight brothers!)

And we're down to single digits in the number of weeks left until the due date (otherwise known as the D-Day)!

Sausage and Swiss Cheese French Toast

Yesterday was COCUSA's annual Chili Supper.  The event went great and, if you're interested, we'll try to post a video or two from the evening in the future.

There is always a lot of great food at the Chili Supper and we got to bring home some of the leftovers.  This included chili (which we're freezing for a meal after the baby arrives), veggies, salami and cheese, and three big bags of bread!

So we thought to ourselves: "What should we do with all this bread?"

Make french toast of course!

Then cover it with sausage and Swiss cheese and maple syrup!  YUM!!!  (There's a decent chance we have it for dinner tomorrow night.  We still have bread left anyway!)
